Zoom Rooms
Zoom Rooms is a Zoom software based room system combined with Neat and other Zoom certified hardware that provides a seamless, integrated experience for audio conferencing, wireless screen sharing, and video conferencing. Zoom Rooms can be used for room-only attendees, or remote attendees joining from another room, from their desktop, or from their mobile device.
Using Zoom Rooms in CSAIL
All CSAIL conference rooms are equipped with Zoom Rooms. Using them requires no laptop, adapters, or any additional hardware—all necessary equipment is built into the room and controlled from a single touch-based console. In most cases, you’ll join a meeting using an ID from a scheduled meeting. You can also create an instant meeting directly from the touch pad.
How to join a meeting using the meeting ID
- Tap Join in the left panel
- Enter the meeting ID using the number pad
- Tap Join
How to start an instant meeting
- Tap Meet Now in the left panel
- Select a Zoom Room to invite, or use the search bar to find a user
- Tap Meet Now to start an instant meeting
- You can invite participants by tapping Manage Participants in the meeting controls
How to share your screen to the display
Wireless
Participants in CSAIL Zoom Rooms can use one-click Wireless direct sharing from a Zoom Desktop Client (macOS or Windows).
- Start or join a meeting using the Zoom Rooms controller
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop app
- In the Zoom desktop app, click Share Screen.
- Enter the meeting passcode and click Join. Your desktop will be shared to the Zoom Room display. You can also access screen share controls.
- (Optional) If you do not want to share your desktop by default, click your profile picture in the desktop app, then click Settings. Click Share Screen, then select Show all sharing options. You will be prompted to select a screen or application the next time you click Share Screen.
HDMI
Wired HDMI screen sharing is a one-plug method to share content from a laptop or mobile device to a Zoom Room.
- Start a Zoom Room meeting or tap Share Content on your Zoom Room controller.
- Plug in the HDMI cable into the HDMI port of the device you are sharing from. This will start the screen share from your desktop to the Zoom TV display
- Unplug the HDMI cable to stop HDMI screen sharing.
When sharing to a Zoom Room, the Zoom application default settings is to “Automatically share desktop”. For better control, we suggest you change the option “Show all sharing options”
To do that open your Zoom preferences Share Screen tab Change “When I share directly to a Zoom Room” to “Show all sharing options”
